This is pancake art. This is one of the biggest pancakes I've ever made. It's one of the most challenging, and it took the longest, and it's one that I am most proud of. I had an opportunity to be featured in the local culture magazine, the Riverfront Times, in an article about my rift with my former company and about who I was and what I was doing next. And it came at a time when I was very down on my luck. I was dealing with a lot of trauma related to the loss of friendships, the loss of a livelihood, the loss of my name. And there was the sense that the people who I had parted with had really defeated me. Having the opportunity to make such an ambitious piece that would then be shared in the physical world on the cover of a magazine that was distributed around the city, and to have that piece be a piece I was truly proud of that depicted me looking kind of cool—all of it came together, and I'm truly pleased. Every time I look at it.
